going.

My SW rpg game: I loved the Kotor series. What I would love would be to make it an action rpg (with still the same type of story and dialogue, etc) and allow the playable character (that you can customize their appearance with tons of options like an MMO or something) to weild a melee weapon in their right hand and a blaster pistol in their left hand simultaneously. It would be awesome to be blocking laser shots with your lightsaber and shooting back. Of course it would have to be a sort of high level skill or something, but still I want a jedi game where I can weild ls+bp.

Pacific Storm: Allies has gone GOLD! ........ Neverwinter Nights 2 is the sequel to the successful D&D based RPG Neverwinter Nights and it's two exspansion packs (Shadows of Undertide and Hordes of the Underdark.) The original was developed by Bioware, but Obsidian has now picked up this lisence and is creating the sequel. Neverwinter Nights is in the Forgotten Realms setting of D&D and NWN2 uses the new(er) 3.5 edition rules of D&D (which would take to long to explain.)

A slew of previews came out recently (IGN, Gamespy, gamespot) and from that the game looks intresting. Graphics wise, I don't think its going to hold a light to Elder Scrolls IV, but to compare NWN2 to ESIV would be faulty beyond that so I'm not going any further down that vien.

A few things of intrest to me popped up during the previews. Its been said in at least one of the previews that you can play as a monsterous race in this game, like an orc, gnoll, drow, and whatever else. You won't be stuck with just the base classes like dwarves, humans, elves, ect. But Obsidian (the developer) said no to template races. This means you can't be a vampire, lycanthrope, and that sort of thing. No worries though, even if half of the original NWN mod community shows up for this game, these will most likely be availble through mods.

Another thing that appears to be cool is the presence of strongholds. Though the function of these things in game hasn't been detailed, maybe you can lay seige? This gamer can only hope.

One thing that has me jumping up and down with joy is a simpified mod set and the removal of tile sets. Translation, you can make things a lot easier and when you place objects like tree, they won't be restricted to a certain area, you can place them where ever allowing for a potentially more organic look to outdoor levels.

I suppose there is a fourth thing ya'll might be intrested in, Obsidian is carring over the follower influence system from KOTORII (which I haven't played and can't speak on.) Also the addition of the Law and Chaos axis has been added to the Good and Evil axis make for more dynamic alignments as any D&D player can tell you. Followers in this game won't be the simple mercenary henchmen from the first, but dynamic NPC that will be affected by the decisions you make.

If you want a slightly more coherent summary and preview head over to gamespy.com, gamespot.com, and/or IGN.com.

Spore stuff from the net

http://www.thesims3.pl/spore/cutenews/data/upimages/1252.jpg

http://www.thesims3.pl/spore/cutenews/data/upimages/1253.jpg

http://www.thesims3.pl/spore/galeria/edytory/010.jpg

http://www.thesims3.pl/spore/galeria/edytory/005.jpg

http://www.thesims3.pl/spore/galeria/edytory/023.jpg

http://www.doupe.cz/Files/Obrazky/art2/s/spore/10.jpg

http://www.doupe.cz/Files/Obrazky/art2/s/spore/03.jpg

http://www.doupe.cz/Files/Obrazky/art2/s/spore/05.jpg

http://www.doupe.cz/Files/Obrazky/art2/s/spore/14.jpg

http://www.doupe.cz/Files/Obrazky/art2/s/spore/23.jpg

etc

Source:

http://www.thesims3.pl/spore/index.php

***Spore Creatures Base - Upload/Download***

Hi all,

I'm not sure if you are familiar with the fact that a Spore creatures have 24.5 Kb max in file size. I am a Java programmer by trade and by hobby. So much so, that a few years ago I built a strategic galactic conquest game called Empire vs Republic. It went on for a couple of years and had nearly 100 participants from around the globe battling for control of the galaxy. It was a fun game, but had limitations.

Five years later, I have finally finished the core programming on the next generation of that game. I call it Galactic Simulation, or GalSim for short. Basically, you can read up about it at http://galsim.nickersonm.com , where I give a little history and some of the features provided. I also give pics and stats for all the ships you can play in the game.

In short, if you liked Rebellion but wanted more control, or like Empire At War but would love to have dozens of players, this game could be up your alley. Build ships, launch attacks, mine resources to fuel your war machine, whatever you want. And all the while, you could command a fleet of star destroyers, like we all have wanted to do.

This game is designed to be content-intensive giving you eventually alot of options on how to make your fortune, plus the ability to see your units down to the individual fighter. Anyway, I hope I have interested you enough. Check out my site (I am NOT a web designer, so it is REALLY REALLY basic) and write me if you want to sign up. Once I get a few people signed up I will start the game turn engine and the war will be on.

Thanks in advance for any interest.

UPDATE:

we have a nice little forum setup for the game and their is already a nice group of folks playing.

go here for the forum

http://warlords.swrebellion.com/smf/index.php/board,23.0.html

here are some screenshots of the action so far

http://galsim.nickersonm.com/screenshots.html

Just email me at markb50k at gmail dot com to join

Now coming for pc May 2008

Bioware has announced that Mass Effect will indeed be released on the PC in May 2008!

Published by EA and re-designed for the PC, Mass Effect invites players to take the role of Commander Shepard as they set out on an adventure to save the galaxy from imminent destruction. Battlestations: Pacific also features five new innovative multiplayer modes to strategically plan and battle against friends with all new maps and units.

Set in WWII, Battlestations: Pacific delivers intense, action-packed combat and strategic warfare at an extraordinary scale and features two distinctly different single player campaigns. As the Americans, the game picks up the story where Battlestations: Midway left off and allows players to fight their way from The Battle of Midway to Okinawa as they try to secure peace in the Pacific. As the Japanese however, players take control of the Imperial Japanese fleet and have the unique chance to fight at Pearl Harbor before attempting to change the course of history and take full control of the Pacific Ocean.

"Eidos is excited to bring an even bigger, more innovative and authentic experience with Battlestations: Pacific," said Robert A. Lindsey, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Eidos Inc. "With an all new Japanese faction to explore and fight with, newly expanded multiplayer content, and a slew of new air, sea, and land units, the game takes the Battlestations series to the next level, bringing a completely different perspective to the war over the Pacific."

The U.S. and Japanese single player campaigns in Battlestations: Pacific feature over 28 story missions, doubling the size of the previous Battlestations: Midway, and 21 new units, including kamikaze and other WWII jets and units. Players can now discover another viewpoint of the war by taking direct control of the infamous Ohka and other Japanese air units that fought over the Pacific Ocean during WWII.

For the first time, the game also includes the tactical landing of troops in battle. Launch your parachute squadrons with pin-point accuracy or ensure the safe passage of your landing craft and watch your battalions of troops capture key locations, man the defensive artillery and gain a strategic foothold to support your offensive efforts.

Battlestations: Pacific features all-new online multiplayer modes where players can actively engage in battles and skirmishes against friends online, and via System Link. With a plethora of new maps, units, and options to explore, Battlestations: Pacific delivers the most exciting, authentic and fun Battlestations experience yet.

Battlestations: Pacific will be available on Xbox 360 and Games For Windows.

Hey guys!
