the reason im here is because i downloaded a mod for eaw on strategy informer called titan cruiser.it said if you had problems to come to this site .and the mod fucked up my game > i did evrything it said to install but now whenever i play all the ship descriptions are wrong and details are wrong .on the main menu the barracks icon comes up whenever i put the mouse over options new game, multiplayer and all the rest.also tie fighters are appearing as imperial cruisers on the mini map .i think the game data was over written when i did it because whenever i go on my com a msg comes up saying i have files ready to written to the cd and there eaws game data i tryed uninstalling eaw and instaling it but nothing please help me out because im so annoyed with i cant even play the game.when i try write the files to the cd it says i cant .email me at ryan989@hotmail.com or reply to this comment and the ppl who made the mod better help me!!!!

Game Lock up

Hello peeps,

I just bought this game (albeit a bit late) and about 5 minutes into the Imperial single player campaign my game/computer locks up and freezes, actually requiring a hard restart. This only happens with this game, and I cannot figure out why. my system specs are are as follows: Intel P4 2.0 Ghz, 1 gig RAM, GeForce 5600 250. If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this I would greatly appreciate it.

Ok ...

I just bought Forces of Corruption, and in the video settings the only resolutions I can select start from 1280x1024, which my monitor cannot support correctly (it emits a high-pitched sound at that resolution or anything higher). The highest I can support without that sound issue is 1280x960. But, as I said, no resolutions lower than 1280x1024 are showing, is it because the game cannot be played at lower resolutions ?

Oh, by the way, I tried the ForceWare drivers, the latest ones, from Nvidia.com, and also beta ForceWare's (160.02's) and there is no changes. And I am running on Windows XP if it matters to mention. And it's the only game where I have such a small list of resolutions to choose from.

Please help. :'(

Hamachi issues, help appreciated.

Hello. When my friends and I are having a LAN party we are able to see eachother fine in the LAN lobby, however, once we try to play over Hamachi, we cannot see eachother in the lobby or eachothers games. We can ping eachother and we've played other games over Hamachi. If anyone has any solutions for this I would greatly appreciate any help I can get.

I keep having problems when I try to install the patch. I tried 1.3 and 1.5, both say that the game can't be found and to re-install the game. I did... twice, and still no luck. Am I missing something? Is there something I should be doing?

Does FoC run on Radeon 7500?

I'm just curious if Forces of Corruption runs on the Radeon 7500 chipset? If anyone has tried. I was quite disappointed when it wasn't on the supported chipset list, but that doesn't mean it won't run on it.

changing resolution from OUTSIDE the game

hello there, i bought the game, but since my old samsung syncmaster 3 supports 800x600 as maximum resolution i can't play. it runs, but screen is distorted as too many pixels are fighting for space that just isnt there, they still try, lol, its pretty funny. perseverant little pixels

anyway since EAW supports such resolution i'm sure there is a way to change it from outside the game, so i'd like some help please =) im loyal to george man! i've been giving money to lucas for almost ten years now, and to be honest i didnt aaaalways recieve my money's worth with software.. or movies.. or comics.. or books.. ok nvm! that's not the point. its ok really, im not complaining, just stating a fact.. but just so you know.. i AM gonna get this game to run in this old piece of cr*p, one way or another.

and to you, the person who's thinking "duh, idiot, buy a new monitor!"

i tell you, dude, dont even bother posting something like that

i know the company would rather force me to buy a new monitor rather than explaining how to do the thing so i can play a game, of course, it makes sense after all, lucasarts CEO must have lunch with monitor manufacturers every now and then, like happy little capitalists they are =)

i would accept that kind of response from lucasarts official tech help

but here we're all users striving to get over our hardware limitations, and i know that maybe some people here have the right frame of mind and became VERY knowledgeable about how the game works.. that is.. how it REALLY works.

EAW doesn't start

I installed empire at war on my pc (pentium dual core 2.80 ghz, 2.00 gb ram, 200 gb sata harddisk, ati x600 graphics card), and the installation process finished without any problem, but when I try to start the game both from the autorun window or directly from the exec file (sweaw.exe) nothing happens... I looked through the troubleshooting guide and I followed the instructions: disable zomeAlarm, the antivirus, daemon tools but nothing changes... I also tried the analysis option of the sweaw.exe, but when I click on the launch analysis, again nothing happens...

FoC installation corrupted

After installing FoC up to the *Insert Disc 2* message, I got a *DirectX 9.0c required" error. I exited the installation and installed the DirectX version. Normally, when a game half installs, it doesn't count for anything. I inserted the FoC disc again and it started to play. When it loaded, the graphics were horrible and there was no sound; obviously there were no files from Disc 2 installed.

Now, I want to uninstall Foc, except that it really isn't fully on the computer yet. Only the EaW file is around on the programs folder. How do I uninstall FoC if it doesn't have an uninstall button?

(When I click uninstall from the start folder, an error message appears. On the auto-run, it only shows Start Game, not install)

The uninstaller will run up to the first *Next* button, and then get a random error message. If I remember correctly, it has to do with a game key (not the product key). I have tried to look for the Lucas Arts folder under My Computer, but it is being a jerk and is not visible. Bah!

Oh, I already uninstalled EaW and reinstalled it. Same thing happened. FoC is integrated with EaW.

3d hardware

when i analyzed my computer for the requirements of this game it said i had no 3d hardware and i dont know how to get it. aswell as the RAM required is 256MB but i only have 128 and my CPU is only 592 MHz and i need 1000. what do i do?

Build bug?

I'm slowly working my way thru the Rebel campaign and at this point I'm building a light barracks on Kuat. The building stopped at 99% but there are still build slots available on the planet. Is this a bug or something else going on I don't know about? The Empire does have ships above the planet, but I didn't think this made any difference in building land based units.

I can't connect online.

Gamespy issues

I despise gamespy, and it despises me...

I can never get the sodding thing to work. I have 3... 3 bloody gamespy accounts and I KNOW the password/email address/nicknames. Yet when I attempt to log onto that malevolent service I get reams of problems. Any combination I attempt results in some error message such as "account does not exist" "password does not match account" or some crap like this.

The worst thing is when I click "create account"

Anyone would assume that clicking a button called "create account" would allow you to create and account.. .but that's where you're wrong!

It would seem that no matter what I call myself "the password does not match the account"... so, there's already somebody out there called "fasdfgfdsghdsayreye" is there... hmmm....

Am I doing something obscenely wrong? Because I must be... I always encounter problems with Gamespy... I hate it so damn much...

hehe..my computer may be too good for the game ;D ..ok anyway first of all this is what happens on the first level on the empire campaing the water in the middle of the level.. it blinks with black really really fast ive tryed to mess with video options but it dosnt fix it here are my spec's

Ellow dear Starwars Empire at war fans,

Well I just bought this game which will be fantastic, I am talking in present tense cause I have not played it yet cause I can not change the ingame resolution.

The ingame resolution is on 1800x1440 which is like WAY WAY to high.... but I can not change it, the game detects it it self and like... thats it I cant find a way to change it. I have checked some of the

MEG files and other files but well, there was no config data for the resolution files in there.

Soooo my question is, HOW can I change the resolution in this game??

Hi, I don't want to post a new post, so here are the steps.

1. Get into a match in SP. (Skirmish is best).

2. Okay, now go to the pause menu and select options.

3. Select Visual.

4. Select which resoulution you want and click "Apply".

5. Click "OK" and it will flash. Now it should say "Your resolution has changed. Accept?" and click "Yes."

That's all that should be nessisary. If it doesn't work, then reporrt back. If it does, post anyway and tell us it did.

I just finished my maps but, the editor won't let me play them or test them. Yes, I had the disc in and the same message keeps appearing:

"Can not locate Star Wars..."

Can someone help me here? The map's a replica of the city level in HALO2

Asks for wrong optical drive?

Successful install, but when I launch it immediately asks me to put the disk in my "F" drive (which is DVD and I have the CD version). If I put the CD in my DVD drive it errors out saying the disk is the wrong format. Does the same thing trying to do the "analyze" function. Game was installed on my "D" drive. I've updated to 1.02 immediately and din't try it after the initial install.

Patch 1.3 crash error

I have been getting a crash error with patch 1.3 installed.

If i update the game to version 1.2 i can run the game and play single player just fine. As soon as I install the patch for version 1.3 (even after removing game and starting from scratch) the game crashed before getting to the main menu. Infact is always frows some exception within itself in the middle of the first screen that comes up (black screen that says "Star Wars: Empire at War" that comes before the lucasarts teaser and the petroglyph games teaser).

I do not have any virtual drives, and I do not have any other programs running aside from Norton Anti-virus.

I will try and update this later when i can get home. The except says to look at two files so see what the problem was. Last time it crashed, only one of the two files was created and that file was a partial memory dump.

Anyone have any ideas for a solution to this problem (note it is getting past the CD check so it is not a "please insert the correct CD" problem).

-Repeatability - (100% 6/6 attemts so far)

-Platform:

Windows XP media center edition version 2002 with sevice pack 2

Standard Gateway 832M Computer (petium 4 3.0ghz with 1gig ram)

upgraded video to PCI Express x16 Nvidia GeForce 6600 w/ 256 mb video ram using the 81.98 ForceWare Drivers.

-Error Type: Crash on Exception error

-Location: splash screen before the lucasarts and petroglyh teasers

-Language: English

-Description: Computer makes a standard error beep and a window pops up behind the game (game stops doing anything). When you alt tab to see the window it says read _logfile.txt and _except.txt for more info, select retry to debug or cancel to quit. If you select cancel the game quits. If you select retry entire system freezes up. This does not happen if i am running an older version of the game (like version 1.2). I have used the in-game patch method and manually patched the game and get the same exception error every time i run the game patched to version 1.3.

-Steps to reproduce:

1. Start the application from start menu-shortcut etc.

2. game errors out on first screen that pops up after cd-rom check

ok i am using new cd since my EaW disc broke by my stupid idiot freind who isnt my freind cause hes broken so much stuff of mine well i want to play online and complete the damn 4th mission for rebels and i was wondering if there is a no cd download for the 1.3 patch. if so please post it for me. thanks :)

Well, the demo will be out in a week or two, so I'm looking forward to your thoughts both positive and negative.

We are not testers just fans - so we will do this testing in a fan way in an effort to find bugs that the devs didn't found or bugs that they know but not fixed but looking at our feedback they may decide to fix.

-Error Type: Crash (or any other title related to the topic main category)

-Location: in-game, splash screen, when loading mission "x", when exiting the game, etc. Anything that could guide better to the location of the bug in short terms.

-Language: English, French etc

-Description: Very clear comments about the bug and what it looks like - what it does, etc. This is the main description of the bug and it should contain all the important informations about what was happening inside the game when the bug showed up.

-Steps to reproduce: 1. Start the application from start menu-shortcut etc. 2. Select sound OFF etc 3. Use this game configuration in the menus etc. 4. Play until mission "x". 5. At mission "x" this types of units and characters were present, etc. (Anything goes that can guide us to try to reproduce your bug.)

-Bug Screenshot: Try to take when ever you can a screenshot and make your self an account here http://photobucket.com/ to be able to upload it for free and post it here as [img/img].

This should be all that you have to write if you want to report bugs in a more constructive way.

You Bug report should contain two more notes:

-Status: (ex:Closed)

-Resolution: (ex:QA: Closed Fixed)

but this will be filled by a moderator or admin.

Exception when loading a saved game

Sometimes when I load a saved game, the game freezes trying to get to it, and once I get back to the desktop using Ctrl+Alt+Delete, there is something that says there was an exception in a file and for more information go to logfile.txt and exception.txt. Has anyone had the same problem and does anyone know how to fix it? I hardly know anything about exceptions and stuff, so any help would be gladly appreciated.
