Installing Cards

Hi all, I am new to RebEd but not the game. What folder do I put the different cards in. I have just downloaded a few Imperial Character card but I cant find where to put them and do all cards go in the same place? as in Ship cards and character cards.

For the past couple of months I have been working on a Stargate SG-1 TC for Rebellion. I have tried to upload a few of the cards onto the website on several different occasions. It never works. Most of the time I get a message that says 'Cannot get file done!'. Other times, it says that the name that I have used for the card already exists. When I do a search for this supposed card I never find it. I have looked everywhere with all settings.

All I want to do is load three cards for SG-1. These cards are Lt. Colonel Mitchell, Dr. Daniel Jackson, and Major Samantha Carter. Later to come would be Teal'c, Vala Mal Doran, Colonel O'Neil, General Hammond, and Jonas Quinn.

Can anyone help me with this problem.

I got a new computer, since my other one died, and I'm readding all the files I lost on that one onto this one. One of the ones I'm missing is the old RebEd Card Viewer. I got it here a while ago, and unless I've somehow overlooked it once or twice, I can't find it anymore. Does anyone have a copy or know a link to where I can download it again?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Oh, and anyone who has links to cards other than the database here...well, feel free to post 'em. Worded that sentence wrong, but ah, well.

editing the encyclopedia for characters in windows 7

Ive read the instructions for rebed and have fully installed the game so I can access the edit feature for the encyclopedia. unfortunately the little e that I am supposed to click on never appears. I am using windows 7 32 bit and rebed 0.26

Extracting Bitmaps from RebED Cards

Hi,

I'm playing Rebellion with an x64 OS which requires that I bypass the normal installer and do the copy/paste and reg file method in order to play. Apparently this causes RebEd to not recognize the installation which prevents me from loading art from .reb files as well as ANY data from RebEd cards. I've tried numerous methods to get RebEd to recognize that the game is installed but to no avail.

Although using RebEd files to import art doesn't work, I can add art manually as .bmps via RebEd. My problem is that I have no idea how to extract artwork from cards or .reb files and I'd like to know if it is at all possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How do i change the names of Ships in Reb ED? I was trying to make a Vindictor Hvy Cruiser and save it over the Star Gallon but the stats changed but Name reminds Star gallon. Im really new to this and just found out about Cards about 1 week ago.

New Card Creation Hull/shield Wpn values

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anybody out there could tell me how to convert Hull codes/Shield rating and Wpn damages to new ships, when making new cards.

I am familiar with both the WEG and the WOC stats for almost all the ships and want to know How the game design time figured out some of the number they assigned to ships.

Take for except the CEC DP-20 Gunship, in both RPG worlds it has a hull of 4d+2 or 460points shields 2d+2 or 260

8 Turbo Lasers 4D+2 or 4d10x5

6 Quad Laser 5d or 5d10x2

4 Concussion missile Tubes for 9D or 9d10x5 damage

so how in the heck did they come up with 150 Laser dam x 4 arcs?

The Reason I ask is I want to add a few new Cap Ship cards, but want the game to remaind balance. I dont want my new ships to be over or under powered compared to existing ships. I have come up with a eye figure for thise numnbers based on the other ships, but want to know if anyone has cracked the code for converting ships from there RPG stats to Rebillion Stats

I need to know if it is possible to change the pictures of the planets, as well as changing the encyclopedia for the planets.

I am planning on creating a TC that starts just after episode III (with a few minor changes) and I want to include planets that ae seen in Episodes I-III. Now i know that I can change the planet's name and importance through ReBed, but I would like to change the appearance and encyclopedia as well if that is even possible.

Ok, so I've been perusing these forums for some time and lately have been trying to edit the game. Finally had some moderate success with rebed and the resource hacker and feel like I've grasped the very basics. However, I have a problem with replacing cards. I don't have a full version installed right now so rebed won't let me replace cards, and I won't be able to install the full version for another 2 weeks as my brother has the CD and he won't be able to bring it back until then.

Is there a way to replace cards without going through rebed? If so, how?

And off topic, if anyone wants to answer these questions I'd be appreciative...

1) Is there any way to change the length of time it takes to research things? For example, I've noticed that if you make only one troop buildable at the beginning of the game (thus have to research 4 types of troops), the 4 troops will come in the same time that it would take to research 3 (if alliance) or 2 (if Imperial). This defeats the purpose as I often research the first troop before turn 40 w/out having anyone researching troop tech.

2) Is there any way to change how aggressive the AI is? (besides modifying costs in rebed)

Help for cards

Hello,

I am writing this topic to get help for the cards. I started to create heroes cards, but I have a pretty annoying problem. In the game, when I do "status" on my new character. The blue will not disappear as the encyclopedia and the window of the defenses of the planet, the blue disappears.

I said that I use good programs photos: PAINT.NET, PHOTOPHILTRE and GIMP

problem loading with a Protectorate The Empire Strike Back

hi im currently having problems get this to work and i couldn't find anything on it Protectorate The Empire Strike Back. p.s. i installed the 1.01 patch and used the updated 1.02 exe.

i followed the intruction to the letter.

1.Copy/paste/overwritte this files : (Tactical.dll,Textstra.dll,Textcomm.dll,Encytext.dll) in the Rebellion Game folder.

2.Copy/paste/overwritte this files :

(DLLEntries.bak,DLLEntries,PTESB Version 2.4.reb) In the RebEd Folder.

3.Load the TC with RebEd load TC option.( Ignore all "version-error" messages )

the errors it gave me however are:-

1) version error

2)has pic replacement

3)Encyclopedia pic replacement

4)no encyclopedia editing do you want the defalts(yes or no makes no diffrence).

5) gives error message below

then i did the final step

4.Copy paste again the Texstra.dll in the Rebellion folder.

(- Due to some stupid error the RebEd when you load a TC fuck's up the names of the new characters in command mode... so after you finished with the two copy-paste steps and you have loaded the TC with RebEd just copy-paste again this texstra.dll in the Rebellion folder.this will fix the problem.)

Then when i play the game the cards are not fixed is there anyway to fix this problem other than trying to fix it manuly?

heres an examle the card for the victory destroyer is the one for the troop transport for the empire and boba fett is one of the empires spys i know its only pics but still

Ive tried everything, looked through the forums for similar problems but could not find anything on it. I have a full instal of the game, ive tried reinstalling the game. Also have tried reinstalling Reb-ed. When i try to up load a picture i get the message cannot open file C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Rebellion\gokres.dll. I would like to be able to run rebed on my cpu and help would be appreciated. If it matters my operating system is vista 32 bit.

Its been some time since Ive last used the RebEd interface, its no surprise then if you forget small tricks along the way.

My question is regarding creating new cards or .rcc files. How do you load an image you've created, in either photoshop or paint, into the editor and then save this file as your own? Ive tried right-clicking on the image in the editor, but this does nothing.

Card Display Question

So I decided to try and make a card or two and I've having a bit of a display issue. I've been looking around to see if there was an issue similiar to mine, but can't seem to find anything, so figured I'd ask. I seem to get this kind of blue halo or a lot of blue pixels bleeding into the pictures and it is happening with all the pictures for the cards.

I figured might help giving a rundown of what I'm doing, see if anything I'm doing is wrong:

What I'm using is Adobe Photoshop 7.0. When I bring the picture into Photoshop, I'm getting a message that says "The RGB document has a file format that does not support embedded color profiles." I've been converting it to Adobe RGB 1998, though it doesn't seem to matter whether I convert or ignore with regards to the blue pixel issue.

Basically, I pre-setup blank cards with the required blue background as well as the Rebel and Imperial background for the Encyclopedia cards. What I've been doing is selecting what I need with the various tools from the picture I'm working with and copying and pasting it onto the blank cards, flattening the image, and then loading it into the cards picture area. It looks fine in RebEd generally, but once I get into game, you get the blue pixel issue.

Anything I'm doing wrong? I noticed the deal with the bottom left blue pixel dealy, but that didn't help.

Ship Cards (.rsc) - Newbie Question

Hi newbie question alert

How do i use the .rsc cards in the card area. There are a few there that i would like to introduce to the game.

I can see that you have to use Rebed to change the basic pictures, however the ingame graphics still look like the original ships. Am i doing something wrong?

Plus is there a way to add new ships witout removing any of the old ones?
